Abstract: The present study examined the moderating effect of moral identity in the relationship between moral disengagement and deviant behavior online using a sample of 550 college students. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypotheses. Results revealed that male college students had higher scores than female college students on measure of moral disengagement in grade 3 and grade 4. But no significant gender differences were found on moral disengagement in grade 1 and grade 2. Results also found that moral disengagement had a positive effect on college students' deviant behavior online. Meanwhile, moral identity had a negative effect on college students' deviant behavior online, and significantly moderated the relationship between moral disengagement and deviant behavior online.

Key words: college student, moral disengagement, moral identity, deviant behavior online
