By using single change-detection paradigm,we studied the time course for feature processing for 3-D graphics in object and spatial working memory. Stimuli presented in experiment 1 were regular three-dimensional graphics of different colors and shapes. And those in experiment 2 were six-prisms consisting of different colors and detailed patterns. The experimental results show that:(1) The performance of object and spatial working memory both decreased with the set size increased. (2) The performance of object working memory significantly improved with the extension of the presentation time, but that of spatial working memory didn't improved significantly. Under three conditions of presentation time, the performances of spatial working memory were better than those of object working memory. (3) Subjects' performance of color processing for 3-D graphics was better than that of shape, pattern, and feature binding. Results suggest that there is significant time course effect. The processing of spatial location finished earliest, then the color, and then the shape and the binding of color and shape, the processing of patterns and binding of color and pattern finished at the latest.

The purpose of the present study was to use a new distractor paradigm to establish the effect of attentional capture by entirely irrelevant stimuli that match the contents of working memory. In Experiment 1, participants were asked to perform a visual search task during working memory maintenance. The results showed slower search performance when the irrelevant distractor in the periphery matched the contents of working memory compared to when it did not. Experiment 2 was designed to discard a bottom-up priming account, and the results showed that the disruptive effects disappeared when the cue was merely perceptually identified without working memory processing. This suggests that the disruptive effects were due specifically to the mechanism of top-down modulation during working memory maintenance. In Experiment 3, the interference effects persisted in the condition where the search stimuli were presented so briefly that any eye movements to the irrelevant distractor can be precluded before completion of the search task. These findings suggest that the presence of an irrelevant distractor matching working memory contents has distracted attention from focusing on the task. Because the memory-matching distractor was entirely irrelevant to the current tasks, the present results provide strong evidence for automatic guidance of attention from the contents of working memory.

The results revealed that:(1) Both positive and honest self-presentation in SNS positively predicted adolescent online altruistic behavior; (2) Online social self-efficacy mediated the relationship between positive self-presentation and online altruistic behavior, and the relationship between honest self-presentation and online altruistic behavior; (3) Hope mediated the relationship between honest self-presentation and online altruistic behavior.

To explore the effect of autobiographical memory function on shiduers' (parents who have lost their only child) prolonged grief, and the moderating role of familism emotion, 372 shiduers were assessed by Thinking About Life Experiences (TALE), Familism Emotion Scale, and Prolonged Grief Questionnaire (PG-13). The results show that:(1) Self function, social function and directive function of shiduers' autobiographical memory have a negative effect on prolonged grief. (2) Familism emotion plays a moderating role between self function and prolonged grief, as well as directive function and prolonged grief. For shiduers whose familism emotion levels are high, self function and directive function can both help them reduce level of prolonged grief, while for shiduers whose familism emotion levels are low, neither self function nor directive function has no effect on prolonged grief. (3) For shiduers with prolonged grief disorder, autobiographical memory function has no effect on prolonged grief level, and familism emotion can no longer plays the moderating role.

Based on the life course paradigm, the present study aimed to explore the effect of parental materialism on college students' online compulsive buying and the mediating role of college students' materialism and social comparison. A sample of 858 college students who had online buying experience from a comprehensive university in Wuhan were recruited to complete questionnaires regarding parental materialism, their own materialism, social comparison and online compulsive buying. Results indicated that:(1) There were significant correlations among parental materialism, college students' materialism, social comparison and online compulsive buying. (2) At the control of gender and socioeconomic status, parental materialism could predict college students' online compulsive buying. (3) College students' materialism and social comparison played mediating roles between parental materialism and their online compulsive buying. In particular, parental materialism affected college students' online compulsive buying through two paths:the separate mediation effect of college students' materialism, and the serial mediation effect of their materialism and social comparison. These findings suggest that parental materialism has a certain influence on college students' online compulsive buying, and this influence is formed through the joint effect of individual factors (e.g. materialism) and peer interaction factors (e.g. social comparison).

This study was aimed to better understand the relationship between epistemological beliefs, self-regulated learning and three dimensions of academic procrastination in college students and whether this relation varied as a function of grades. 1096 college students were tested with Epistemological Beliefs Questionnaire, Self-regulated Learning Scale and Procrastination Assessment Scale-Students (PASS). Findings revealed that (1) Epistemological beliefs were positively related to self-regulated learning and negatively related to frequency of academic procrastination, self-regulated learning was negatively correlated with frequency of academic procrastination, the degree to which procrastination is a problem to them, the extent to which they want to decrease procrastination behavior while controlling for college students' gender and grades factors. (2) The negative impact of epistemological beliefs on the frequency of academic procrastination was fully mediated by self-regulated learning, the effect of epistemological beliefs on the degree to which procrastination is a problem to them and the extent to which they want to decrease procrastination behavior were partially mediated by self-regulated learning. And (3) the mediating effect of self-regulated learning was moderated by grade factor. The indirect effect was stronger for low grade students than for high grade students. These results suggested that we could decrease college students' academic procrastination by improving their epistemology beliefs and self-regulated learning. The contribution and implications of these findings were discussed in detail.

The goal of the present study is to provide a basis for designing an intervention scheme through emotional picture book reading for a 15-year-old child with severe autism. The study is conducted by applying the Eye-Tracking technique to directly capture his eye movement features during reading the emotional picture book. The results are:(1)Before the intervention of emotional picture book reading, the child paved more attention to the background area than to the protagonist area and the expression of the protagonist, which is likely to be noticed lastly or even neglected.(2)After the intervention, the latency of the first fixation in the expression of the protagonist is shortened; the fixations and fixation duration in expression of the protagonist are increased, and the child's emotion understanding ability remarkably enhanced as well.

To examine the relation between social support, self-efficacy, self-esteem, and posttraumatic growth (PTG), this study used social support questionnaire, self-efficacy questionnaire, self-esteem scale, and PTG inventory to investigate 1185 adolescents over 8.5 years since Wenchuan earthquake. The results found that social support may promote directly the realization of PTG. Social support may indirectly and positive affect PTG by self-efficacy and self-esteem, respectively. In addition, social support may also increase PTG by improving self-efficacy, which in turn lead to increased self-esteem. These findings suggested that self-efficacy and self-esteem may play mediating role between social support and PTG.

To investigate the effect of problematic internet use on suicidal ideation, 1311 junior middle school students from nine public schools in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province were recruited to participate in the study, and they anonymously filled out DOCS, SIOSS, the Revised UCLA Loneliness Scale and PASS. Results were as follows:(1) problematic internet use had a significant positive prediction for loneliness and suicidal ideation of junior middle school students; (2) loneliness of junior middle school students mediated the relationship between problematic internet use and suicidal ideation; (3) perceived social support significantly moderated the relationship between loneliness and suicidal ideation, and the effect of loneliness on suicidal ideation was weakened as perceived social support increased. Therefore, there were mediating role of loneliness and moderating role of perceived social support between problematic internet use and suicidal ideation of junior high school students.

In order for the precaution and intervention of mobile addiction among college students, the association of security with actual social avoidance and mobile addiction was explored from the perspective of Psychological Decompensation Hypothesis. Totally 420 college students participated in this survey, and they were asked to complete the security questionnaire, social avoidance and distress scale and mobile phone addiction index scale. The results showed there were 49.8% mobile addicts in this survey, and the security of phone addicts was significantly lower than that of general phone dependents. The security had a significantly negative prediction for mobile addiction among phone addicts and general phone dependents. Besides, Actual social avoidance mediated the relation between security and mobile addiction among mobile addicts, but did not mediate this relation among general phone dependents. The findings uncover the specific mechanism underlying the relation between security and phone addiction among mobile addicts, which support Psychological Decompensation Hypothesis, and provide psychological evidences for intervention of security and social interaction during behavior therapy of phone addiction.

The present study aimed to explore the mediating effect of coping style on the relationship between dormitory interpersonal relationship and depression, and the moderating effect of gender on the mediating model. A total of 876 college students from three universities in Wuhan were selected by cluster random sampling method, and completed dormitory interpersonal relationship questionnaire, depression scale and dormitory conflict coping style questionnaire. The results indicated that:(1) the dormitory interpersonal relationship significantly negatively correlated with depression; competition and avoidance significantly positively correlated with depression; while cooperation significantly negatively correlated with depression, and compliance didn't correlate with depression significantly. (2) the mediating effects of competition and cooperation on the relation between dormitory interpersonal relationship and depression were significant. (3) Gender moderated the first half mediate path through competition, and this indirect effect was much stronger among boys than among girls. Results highlight the importance of both college students' dormitory interpersonal relationship and positive coping style when considering the prevention and intervention of college students' depression.

Prior studies found fear of missing out (FOMO) is a significant predictor of social networking sites addiction based on Facebook platform. However, the mechanism underlying this association remains unclear. Using Chinese popular social networking sites platform, we aimed to explore the mediating roles of social media integration use and support between FOMO and social networking sites addiction. Four hundred and ninety three Chinese college students, including fresh man, sophomore and junior from three university in Chongqing complete measures of FOMO, Chinese social media addiction scale, social media integrator use scale and social media support scale. The results showed:(1) FOMO is a significant predictor of social networking sites addiction;(2) social media use integration mediate the relationship between FOMO and social networking sites addiction;(3) social media support mediate the relationship between FOMO and social networking sites addiction; (4) social media use integration and support serially mediate the relationship between FOMO and social networking sites addiction. The implications and limitation of the study were discussed.

Little attention has been paid to migrant elderly people in psychological study, not to mention the study of the relationship between intergroup contact and the happiness of migrant elderly people. In the present study, the general intergroup contact quantity and contact quality scale, the intergroup contact scale, the Memorial University of Newfoundland scale of happiness, and the positive affect and negative affect scale were administrated to a sample of 178 migrant elderly and 62 local elderly in Changping district, Beijing to explore the relationship between intergroup contact and happiness. Results showed that (1) there was a significant asymmetry in intergroup contact between migrant elderly people and local elderly people. Compared with the local elderly people, the migrant elderly people showed significantly high intergroup contact quantity and willingness, but there was no significant difference of intergroup contact feeling between the both groups; (2) intergroup contact quality significantly predicted the happiness level of the migrant elderly people; (3) intergroup contact also significantly predicted the happiness and positive emotion of the local elderly people.

This study explored the mechanism of the organizational climate of square dance towards the subjective well-being of the elderly. A total of 366 elderly participants of square dance participated in this study. The results showed that square dance organizational climate could affect subjective well-being, and self-esteem and group identification act as mediators. In addition, the mediating effect involves two ways, one is the single mediating effect of self-esteem and the other is the chain mediating effect of group identification towards self-esteem. Consequently, we can facilitate the elderly's positive and healthy aging and strengthen their subjective well-being by improving the organizational climate of square dance.
