Social Support and Hope Mediates the Relationship between Gratitude and Posttraumatic Growth among College Students

Abstract: This study examined the mediating effect of social support and hope in the relationship between gratitude and posttraumatic growth (PTG) among college students. Used self-report questionnaires to investigate the mental health of 2168 college students. The mediating roles would be assessed by using structural equation model, wherein the virus exposure risk, gender and age would be controlled because its importance.The results showed that the prevalence of PTG was 41.61%; gratitude had a directly and positive effect on PTG; gratitude could affect PTG positively through social support and hope. These findings suggested that college students' gratitude may have an indirect and positive relation with PTG by social support and hope.
