Abstract: By comparing the performances on phonological awareness test, morphological awareness test and on-line lexical access tests, the present study examined the heterogeneity and the dominant deficit of Chinese developmental dyslexia. The results showed that many factors, including phonological awareness, morphological awareness and the speed of lexical access, play an important role on Chinese reading.Chinese dyslexia are not homogeneous and mor-phological deficit may be an important reason for Chinese developmental dyslexia.

Key words: dyslexia, phonological deficit, morphological deficit, lexical access
