A Study of the Predictive Validity of Explicit and Implicit Self-esteem for Subjective Well-being of University Students

Abstract: To examine the predictive validity of explicit and implicit self-esteem for subjective well-being(SWB)of university students,based on the Implicit Association Test(IAT)and scales,a total of 111 university students was tested.Results showed that(1)self-esteem consisted of dual components which involve an implicit component and an explicit component.(2)explicit self-esteem and implicit self-esteem could both predict SWB of university students significantly.
