Effects of Violent Video Games on Aggressive Thoughts,Feelings,and Behavior

Abstract: Based on a 3×2×2 between-subjects-designed experiment, it is intended to explored the influence of violent video games, trait aggression and the sex on aggressive thoughts, aggressive feelings, and aggressive behavior in 75 college students. The results showed as follows: (1) Violent video games had significant influence on aggressive behavior. (2) Violent video games showed non-significant influence on aggressive feelings. (3) Violent video games increased aggressive thoughts. Man reported more aggressive thoughts than woman. A three-way interaction on aggressive thoughts was significant.
