The Professional Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics Teachers: Its Structure and Internal Relationship

Abstract: Based on 162 elementary school mathematical teachers' performance on required professional knowledge, the study examined the internal relationship among three domains of professional knowledge included subject-matter knowledge,general pedagogical knowledge and pedagogical practical knowledge.The results showed that the measures were found to be reliable and valid.Teachers' pedagogical practical knowledge was predicted by their subject-matter knowledge and general pedagogical knowledge significantly.
