The Measure of the Work-family Conflict of Chinese Elementary and Secondary School Teachers

Abstract: This research was aimed to explore the structure of the work-family conflict(WFC)of Chinese elementary school and secondary school teachers,and to develop the qnestionaire to investigate it.The structure was revealed according to the review of current literature,open-ended questionnaire survey,interview with teachers,and data analysis bused on 1025 efficiency samples.The WFC structure of Chinese elementary school and secondary school teachers consisted of two parts:work interfere with family(WIF)and family interfere with work(FIW).Each part included 3 dimensions:emotion,mental resources and behavior pattern.Based on this structure,the questionnaire was developed which had 22 items and was proved to be of good reliability and validity so that it could be used to investigate the WFC of Chinese elementary school and secondary school teachers.
